Young & Franklin Valves

Young & Franklin (YF) is the premier manufacturer of robust turbine control valves.

In April 2011 CMA was appointed as the YF authorised Repair and Overhaul facility for Australia and New Zealand. To achieve this our technicians underwent extensive training at Y&F’s facility in Syracuse, New York and our workshop has been inspected by Y&F and been certified to test and repair repair Y&F valves. Our repairs and testing our carried out to the same standards and have the same warranty as the OEM factory repair.

Young & Franklin and its subsidiary, Tactair Fluid Controls Inc., are manufacturers of controls used by the land-based turbine, aircraft, defence and oil industries. The company, founded in 1918, is privately owned and is located in Liverpool, a suburb of Syracuse, New York.

 

 

Y&F is extensively used on GE Frame Turbines for IGV control, Stop Ratio Gas control and turning gear sequencing.

Y&F 9500 series combined Stop Ratio valve on a GE Frame 6B Turbine. CMA carry a full range of parts to overhaul these valves and have started a program of stocking service exchange ( rotable ) valves so that a fully refubished valve can be delivered to site prior to a maintenance outage.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Y&F also has a new generation of “All Electric Actuators” that removes the need for hydraulic actuation of Gas Control and IGV actuators. These are being used on new GE oil and gas turbines and are being retrofitted to some of the Frame series Heavy Duty GE turbines
