Servo Valve Division

  • CMA has been testing and repairing servo and proportional valves for 20 years.
  • CMA tests and repairs servo and proportional valves across many industries including energy, material testing, timber, defence, manufacturing, aeronautical, mining and blow moulding.
  • CMA’s hydraulic test bench, electronic control box and software is all designed and maintained in-house by our specialist engineers and technicians. All gauges and transducers are 3rd party certified.
  • CMA’s job tracking system allows us to maintain valve history of our customer’s valves to ensure we can offer equipment lifetime data.
  • CMA tests and repairs Moog, Star, Rexroth, Parker, Ultra,  Abex, Eaton, Bosch, Atchley, Woodward, Herion, Voith, EMG, OilGear valves (and the list goes on).
  • CMA has the specialist knowledge and extensive library to test & repair all of these manufacturer’s valves.

Why test your Servo Valves?

  • After testing close to 10,000 valves at CMA, we know that up to 50% of valves that have been changed due to performance or a perceived fault can be tested, evaluated and repaired quickly and at a fraction of the cost of a replacement.

CMA’s custom test software provides a plot of the valves key characteristics including flow gain, hysteresis, null leakage, pressure gain, null bias and null shift, spool feedback and step response which allows concise and accurate performance evaluation. Examples of these plots are below;

Servo vs. Proportional?

A valve with a bushing spool assembly is defined as a servo valve, characterized by high precision metering edges. Proportional valves have a spool-in-body design.

Standard test and repair fees available for all valve types.

Breakdown testing available.
