Certified Testing & Repair of Process Valves – All Brands.

Valves used to regulate and limit pressure in gas processes require very careful servicing. The sealing surfaces inside this type of valve are easily damaged resulting in leaks or jamming of the valve. Many valves are used as safety over-pressure protection devices, and need to be tested at regular intervals to meet legislative requirements. Process valves may also be used to control gases or fluids that cannot be subject to any form of contamination (e.g. Oxygen service valves).

CMA offers a complete process valve repair service. A typical valve is dealt with as follows:-

  • Documented using the CMA valve tracking QA system.
  • Receiving test and assessment. Valves are tested on our calibrated test benches and results compared with valve specifications.
  • Strip, clean, and assess internal parts.
  • Grinding/ lapping of internal parts.
  • Grit blast and paint as appropriate housing and external gasket surfaces.
  • Replacement of seals and main springs as required.
  • Re-assembly and test/ calibration. Testing includes re-seat leakage tests, and calibration of operating pressure.
  • Hydro-carbon removal/cleaning and certification for use in special applications (e.g. Oxygen).

CMA has the capability to test valves ranging in size from 1/2″ air compressor safety valves to the 10″ and greater large regulators and relief valves used in major gas plants. We can also provide rapid turnaround of multiple valve repairs to suit plant outages.
